Arrival of Guests

We can provide beautiful  background music for your guests to enjoy as they take their seats for the ceremony. The music is usually classical in nature (e.g. Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Mozart, Handel’s Water Music), which creates a happy, relaxed atmosphere. The music at this point can also fill the gap and soothe nerves if the bride uses her prerogative to arrive late!

Entry of the Bridal Party

One of the most beautiful and emotional parts of the wedding service, this deserves only the most special music. AlbaMusica can suggest some pieces you might like e.g. Pachelbel’s Canon (see repertoire list), or you can ask for your favourite tune to be arranged for the group.
We have played many different pieces of music at this point, so don’t hesitate to ask for your own choice.

Hymns

Hymns are an important part of a religious marriage ceremony and a chance for your guests to participate in the service.
We can play any hymn from the Scottish or the Church of England Hymnal, and can arrange any other more unusual hymns you would like.

Signing of the Marriage Register

This is a point in the ceremony where music is essential, to entertain your guests while you sign the register. This is a wonderful moment of calm in the proceedings so we suggest some quiet slow music such as Bach Air on a G string or My Love is like a Red Red Rose (full list of suggestions here), however you may like to choose your own favourite song.

Exit of the Bride and Groom

The most joyful and celebratory part of the marriage ceremony, this requires lively and triumphal music. Our repertoire includes such favourites as The Arrival of the Queen of Sheeba (repertoire list) but the choice is yours, and we would be happy to advise. This music will be played until all your guests have left the room.

Drinks Reception

Most weddings and civil partnership ceremonies have a drinks reception between the actual ceremony and the meal, enabling photographs to be taken of the happy couple and for old friends and relatives to renew their acquaintance over a glass of bubbly!
AlbaMusica provides a varied selection of background music for your drinks reception. This will include classical, opera, film themes, pop songs, blues, ragtime, and much more, creating a fun, joyful and upbeat atmosphere.

Meal

Some couples like to have background music played during the meal. For this we provide a wide selection of music from our extensive repertoire, starting with the more classical songs  and finishing with more lively, popular numbers.
